Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is a “stand-in friend”?

A stand-in friend is someone you can talk to, laugh with, and feel heard by — without judgment or obligation. It’s supportive companionship for when you want connection, conversation, or just someone to listen. Think of it as a calm, reliable space for genuine human connection.

Who is this service for?

Whether you’re a caregiver, a student far from home, a retiree craving more connection, or simply someone feeling stretched thin, this space is for you.

Life can feel a bit lonely sometimes. You don’t have to go through it alone!

Is this the same as therapy or life coaching?

Nope! Please note that my services are non-clinical and not intended to replace therapy, counseling, or medical treatment. I do not provide diagnosis, mental health advice, or medical guidance.

These sessions are meant for human connection, emotional support, and companionship only. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please seek help from a qualified professional or call your local crisis line.

What can we talk about?

Almost anything! Life goals, hobbies, relationships, work stress, or just how your day is going. I’m here to listen, chat, and share thoughtful conversation — no agenda, no judgment.

This is strictly platonic companionship. There’s no flirting, dating, or romantic interaction — just kindness, presence, and real conversation.

Is this confidential?

Everything we talk about stays private. I do not record, post, or share details from our visits with anyone. You can speak freely knowing your thoughts and experiences stay between us.

The only time confidentiality would be broken is if I believe you or someone else is in immediate danger. In these rare circumstances, I will contact appropriate help to ensure everyone’s safety.

Can I reschedule or cancel?

Of course! You can reschedule up to 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made after that window may incur a small fee, but I know life happens — just reach out.

Are you available for emergencies?

No — I am not a crisis or emergency resource.

If you are in danger or thinking of hurting yourself, please contact emergency services or call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7 in the U.S.

Why would I pay for a friend?

Your payment is not for fake affection. It is for my time, reliability, and commitment to being fully present for you.
